It is the oldest classical dance tradition in India and also one of the most exotic, graceful and beautiful dance forms of India. It brings out the graciousness that anyone has in them. The dance form originated in ancient Tamil Nadu, specifically in Tanjore district. It is the mother of many other classical other dance forms. It is also the National dance form of India.

Mohiniyattam
It is an Indian classical dance form that developed and remained popular in the state of Kerala. It is a very graceful dance form. Mohiniyattam dance gets its name from the word Mohini – a historical enchantress avatar of the Hindu God Vishnu, who helps the good prevail over evil by developing her feminine powers.
Kuchipudi
It originated from a village named Kuchipudi in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It developed as a religious art linked to traveling bards, temples and spiritual beliefs, like all major classical dances of India
Kathak
The origin of Kathak is traditionally attributed to the traveling bards in the of ancient northern India known as Kathakars or storytellers. The term Kathak is derived from the Vedic Sanskrit word Katha which means “story”, and Kathakar which means “the one who tells a story”, or “to do with stories”.
Odissi
It is a major ancient Indian classical dance that originated in the Hindu temples of Odisha – an eastern coastal state of India Odissi, in its history, was performed predominantly by women, and expressed religious stories and spiritual ideas, particularly of Vaishnavism. Odissi performances have also expressed ideas of other traditions such as those related to Hindu Gods Shiva and Surya, as well as Hindu Goddesses (Shaktism)

India is a land of diverse cultures and traditions. Folk art is the common possession of a group of people or a particular locality. Lavni, Yakshagana, Ghumar, Bhangra, Rauf are some examples. The most energetic and colorful Indian dance forms are Bhangra and Garba.
Bollywood Dance
Bollywood Dance is the name given to the dance-form used in Indian (Hindi) films. It originated in Bollywood films. Bollywood dancing is a style of dance that is heavily influenced by the various Indian classical dance or folk dances from various parts of India, also by the Hindu art, music and culture

Chenda is a majestic instrument widely used in Kerala. There is an ancient saying that all other 18 vadayas (instruments) come under Chenda. This is a kind of percussion instrument, from where complex music was produced.
Its presence was first discovered in Hindu mythologies, paintings and sculptures. In early days, Chenda was used by the men of King to announce some important information and also to declare war. Traditionally, it was categorized as ‘Asura Vadyam’ which means an instrument which cannot be used in harmony. This Indian drumming instrument is capable of producing very complex rhythms. The sound emitted by Chenda is loud and rigid and thus, can be heard easily from more than 3 kilometers. This musical instrument is very heavy in weight. Chenda has also been in use in the tantric rituals of goddess Mahakali from the previous time.
Idakka
In Kerala, it was used at the time of festivals, in temples and in other auspicious ceremonies and eventually became an important part of their cultural activities and rituals.
The idakka or edakka is an hourglass-shaped drum from Kerala in south India. This handy percussion instrument is very similar to the pan-Indian damaru. There is perhaps no other indigenous percussion instrument that can create crystal clear gamakas.
